New corporate partnerships program

PSYDEH uses the space created by the pandemic to build its three-pronged program for companies partnering with Mexico NGOs, a key element to our companies partnering with Mexico NGOsresource diversification strategy.

(1) Prong one revolves around Cause Marketing, Cross Fertilization & Leader Development. Here, we engage corporations looking to be socially responsible, including while helping them to develop high-performing staff and connections across geographic and business areas.

(2) Prong two focuses on classic Philanthropic Giving where companies may provide direct funding to help support specific PSYDEH initiatives with the women and local communities we serve.

(3) Prong three covers Sustainable Business opportunities where we can collaborate with companies to work smartly and ethically in and around rural and indigenous communities in Mesoamerica.

Since reorienting PSYDEH’s work in 2014-2015, and particularly important now during the COVID-19 pandemic when resources are limited, PSYDEH relies on its seven-resource stream strategy celebrated in this Spanish-language article to thrive despite the Mexican government’s multi-year attack on civil society and the pandemic’s negative effect on Mexico’s economy. Our evolving program is explained in our new webpage complete with case studies on past and present collaborations, this brand new program brochure, and a cause-marketing brochure.

As Damon Taylor, PSYDEH’s Senior Advisor, states:

“PSYDEH’s can-do ethos and volunteer orientation is our DNA; it’s how we have grown over the years and will continue to be a pillar of our work. But, there are limits to what is possible with volunteers without proper funds. We’re therefore thrilled about using the pandemic to reorient how we think about meeting with companies partnering with Mexico NGOs, including our new cause marketing initiative. And we already see exciting fruit from this labor with forthcoming novel partnerships we’ll be announcing by year’s end/early 2021.”

Special thanks go to Roisin McAuley, strategic communications director, and Carmen Grab, global engagement coordinator for helping to produce program brochure. We also thank Diogo Heber, our field photographer, for his pictorial contributions.
