Promoting Storytelling as a Form of Feedback

feedback labsUSA-based Feedback Labs recently invited to PSYDEH to publish an article in their 2020 blog. In this piece, “To know is to be known: storytelling is foundational to actionable feedback“, we explain feedback gathered with and from local partners helps PSYDEH to develop projects that reflect local demands and needs. And how the 2019 storytelling project enhances this work and produced interesting results for women and our own organization.

As PSYDEH explains in the article, “[t]here is power in telling our stories: Who we are, what we think of ourselves and others, and what they think of us. All of these elements shape our world view. Learning to tell and share our stories helps us know better and communicate our world view. Sharing stories also informs how others view us and interpret what we share, i.e., marketing. They bind us to one another. And narrative training improves our ability to give actionable feedback. Yet, we often lack the skills, experience, and platform we need to own and tell our narratives.”

Feedback Labs is a non-profit organization that believes people are the best experts in their own lives, and they should ultimately drive the policies and programs that impact them.
