Ireri Andrea Muñiz Ortega | Digital Communications Coordinator
Andrea is a Mexican collaborator leading Digital Communications at PSYDEH. She focuses on the development of ideas and creative proposals for digital content for communication platforms, sharing the work and impact of PSYDEH, as well as the stories around the organization and programs.
Graduated in Audiovisual Communication from the Universidad del Claustro de Sor Juana, Andrea grew up in the state of Hidalgo, which allowed her to get to know parts of the Otomí-Tepehua region, where the work of PSYDEH takes place. Also, from a personal aspect, Andrea has had an interest in researching and learning about traditional Mexican embroidery, creating empathy with the women artisans and local knowledge. As she states:
“When I read about PSYDEH and its work in the state of Hidalgo, I felt an immediate bond because of my history and the place where I grew up. I also felt a bond for the women artisans who carry in their hands a great ancestral knowledge, they are incredible embroiderers and weavers, mothers of families, and guiding axes of their communities, but it is necessary to recognize the importance of their participation and enhance their capabilities. This is where PSYDEH and the work of the entire team comes in.”
