On International Women’s Day, PSYDEH’s announces its March 24th “Third Regional Public Forum of Native Women”
In the month during which we celebrate international women’s day, PSYDEH and women partners, with funding from global citizens via our US-based Global Giving “Fruits of Change” crowdfunding campaign, and the Mexican federal Instituto Nacional Electoral (INE), PSYDEH announces the third regional public forum of native women on March 24, 2017.
This Forum, hosted by the local government of Tenango de Doria, and co-planned with the Regional Board of Indigenous Women Leaders (see below some pictures of our final planning session), follows in the footsteps of our 2nd and 1st Forums by bringing together up to 200 women from across the Region to:
- LEARN from national and regional women leaders on why and how they can participate in Mexico’s democracy.
- PRESENT the women’s development agenda defining local problems and their ideas for solutions to local government leaders.
- PROMOTE a growing network of indigenous women-led NGOs who plan to use their development agenda as the basis for their own projects to solve local problems.
- CELEBRATE a united region of indigenous women leaders speaking different languages, including with dance and their myriad artisanal products.
