Yaneth Santos Miranda | Cooperative Incubation Consultant

Yaneth Santos Miranda is originally from the town of Zetoy, in the municipality of Tenango de Doria, Hidalgo. She has a degree in Sustainable Development from the Universidad Intercultural del Estado de Hidalgo.

She currently collaborates with PSYDEH as a Cooperative Incubation Consultant with the purpose of training rural and Indigenous women from communities in the Otomí-Tepehua-Nahua region to consolidate organized groups and form a cooperative network. In addition to collaborating with PSYDEH, she has been a partner since 2017 of the Hyadi Njü Cooperative, a group of women artisans dedicated to the production of textiles and accessories embroidered and designed with Tenangos in the municipality of Tenango de Doria, Hidalgo. The objective of the cooperative is to produce, distribute and sell our products inside and outside the country at fair prices so that the profits from our collaborative work benefit each of our artisans.

Working these four years in this cooperative has taught me a lot about the importance of teamwork to achieve a common good. In the course of our cooperative, we have learned to work on the following values: respect, equality, solidarity, and equity, which are the pillars for an organization to continue standing, and although it may sound not very credible, the problems that we have also experienced as a group have made us reinforce, recreate and also give more cohesion to our cooperative.
