Linking Women Leaders’ Network with the Federal Institute Protecting Citizens’ Rights around Access to Information

On March 14, PSYDEH continued our tradition of inviting regional women leaders to serve as clearinghouse for helpful information and resources offered to citizens.

Here, PSYDEH, in collaboration with INAI (National Institute of Transparency, Access to Information and Protection of Personal Data), helped to produce a workshop for the leaders of the regional organization on citizen rights around the protection of their personal data. The day-long workshop in Tulancingo, Hidalgo, the gateway city into the Otomí-Tepehua region, covered such topics as the general forms in which personal data exists, the risks associated with the theft of personal data and ways to protect personal data.

Interestingly, the experience proved also to be another chapter in our work to bridge different worlds. Our women partners found themselves among the few women in a room filled with men. Moreover, for some, this was their first visit to Tulancingo. For almost half, this was the first time they had stayed in a hotel. PSYDEH believes that this kind of bridging social capital experience is key to strengthening women leaders’ resilience.
