PSYDEH collaborates on the October 6 art and cultural exhibition titled, “Active Citizenship: modern social voices”

Our exhibition’s October 6 inauguration at the Casa de Cultural Tamaulipas in Mexico City links

• five citizen photographers from Mexico, Spain, Brazil and the USA
• a Mexican critical thinker and writer
• a group of Mexico City-based young musicians, and
• PSYDEH and its women partners

to produce a unique art and cultural experience for Mexico City residents around the exhibition concept:

In this age of massive global change, building bridges across culture, race and class boundaries is how we strengthen society. Photography, critical essay, music and other cultural works of art bring us closer to self and other. They are how we illuminate our uniqueness and our similarities, tools through which we inform, celebrate, reflect and comment on how citizens are connected and thus made better in collaboration. Without walls and with bridges, we citizens can get on with the important work of informed negotiation with each other on the right policies, laws and public initiatives we need to solve the wicked challenges ahead of us.

***Photographs and native women’s famous embroidered art will be sold with a percentage of all embroidered art and specific photograph sales being dedicated to PSYDEH and its fund to support the family of our colleague Nayelica Lazcano Bernardino.
