The Agenda, Project Needs and How Local Government Plans Meet Women’s Demands

In the fall of 2016, local government administrations changed across the Mexican Republic.

Under Mexican law, each of these administrations is obligated to share their development plans with citizens such that they can comment and help focus the plans to meet their needs.

Beginning in late 2016, members of the Women’s Regional Organization have met regularly to deepen their understanding around their own Development Agenda with an eye to their

  1. DEEPENING understanding around the subjects contained in their Agenda,
  2. INFORMING local governments in the Region on whether and how their development plans meet women’s needs, and
  3. USING their own NGOs to produce up to four capacity-building projects in 2017-2018.

We hope to share work session learning and recommendations in the Third Regional Forum of Native Women scheduled for mid-March.
